1. Disconnect the spark plug wire. This will ensure that the engine cannot start while you are replacing the muffler.

2. Place a thick cloth or rag around the muffler to protect the surrounding lawn mower parts from heat or sparks when you are removing the muffler.

3. Remove the muffler mounting bolts. Use a socket wrench or a combination wrench to remove the nuts and bolts holding the muffler in place.

4. Pull the muffler away from the lawn mower. This will allow you to access the exhaust port.

5. Install the new muffler. Insert the new muffler into the exhaust port and secure it with the mounting bolts.

6. Reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.

7. Start the lawn mower and test the new muffler. Make sure the muffler is securely mounted and is functioning properly.
